Correction Peter – The date was 2/14/11. Valentine’s Day and on a Monday night. Still, I am sad over Davy.

Hi Peter – I just found out, like many others, that DAVY JONES Passed Away today! February 29, 2011! Heart Attack, 66 years old! I AM IN SHOCK!! SO SAD! I remember when he opened for you and the Hermits last year, 2/14/10, in Greensberg, PA. My 4 family members and I were in the front row and LOVED his show. He was such a Wonderful performer/person. He signed my book, “Davy Jones, Daydream Believin’. I can’t believe he is gone. Any thoughts? You and him were good friends and both from Manchester. Unbelievable that Davy is no longer with us.

I’ve been perusing the U.K. tour stops. Our touring chorus from Sarah Lawrence College took tea in High Wycombe during one British sojourn (I’m sure it’s much more developed nowadays), and performed at the Cheltenham Summer Music Festival two years later. It was a very “upper crusty” sort of crowd. I seem to recall dowagers in full-length gowns and elbow-length evening gloves giving us “standing Os” and cheering. Nice folk, there. Wish I could be one of your camp-followers, this spring.
