Herman's Hermits Starring Peter Noone

Around The World Tour / Nashville, TN

Peter Noone and Restless Heart in their studio in Nashville

Yesterday I was in Nashville recording a new version of There’s A Kind of Hush (All Over the World) with Restless Heart. That’s us above. Paul, Greg, Peter and John.

We did two great new versions of There’s A Kind of Hush and it should be available in March. One version me singing lead and Restless Heart singing incredible backgrounds and duetting with Peter, and an even better version with John singing lead and me duetting and helping out on backgrounds (aaahhh).

It will be on iTunes as soon as they send me a mix.

I played an unfinished version for the Noonatics at the soundcheck party in Georgia earlier this week.

Trying to come up for a name for my version?

Should it be Restless Heart with Peter Noone or Restless Heart with Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone?

Take a look at how fab these chaps are at their website.

From Milwaukee, WI.- Mr. Noone, I am so sorry about your lose and also my condolence for all his family too. About the title of the song I believe it sounds better “Restless Heart, with Peter Noone”.

Peter I am so sad to hear about Your good friend and I will always remember listening to him growing up. I know you will miss him and He will be in heaven watching everyone celebrate his life. Have a good tour in and take good care of yourself. It looks to me you have been doing a great job of doing that anyway. I just would like to see you around for a long long time longer. I do hope you come back Kentucky or Cincinnati again very soon! If I could I would go to all your shows!

Peter, with this new “southern” aura you seem to be gathering about you, why not consider a return visit to Georgia?? We have a Verizon Amphitheater here in Alpharetta just waiting to be filled up by you . . . . maybe along with Restless Heart?!

I bet this will sound good. Sometimes though remakes are terrible. For example Black Eyed Peas remake of Bill Medley and Jennifer Warrens “Time of My LIfe.” ugg. They tortured a great song.

    Hi Froggie,

I couldn’t have put it better myself, and I agree to a certain extent, although, I am beginning to realize that when HHSPN do their touring around the country and the world, it is the old classics that stand the strength of time. I’ll tell you which ones I would love to hear, however…L’autre Jour, Regardez-Moi, Museum, Marcel’s, Rattler, Heartbeat (Buddy Holly), Don’t Go Out Into the Rain, My Sentimental Friend, Green Street Green then those very obsure old English music hall ones such as: Two Lovely Black Eyes, My Old Dutch, etc.>3

Add another vote to Restless Heart with Peter Noone. Almost all of your recent (in the past dozen years) collaborations bill you as yourself, and that’s as it should be. I can’t wait to hear this.

I saw you perform “There’s A Kind Of A Hush” with Restless Heart last year in Nashville, so I know I’m gonna love to purchase this one! I think this time it should be Restless Heart featuring Peter Noone. I have downloaded their music on itunes since I heard them that night…like your fab songs, their songs have the tendency to stick in your head for days!!!

Restless Heart with Peter Noone sounds right in as much as your band was not present for the recording. I’ll be anxious to hear this HH standard with a country slant to it.

Can we expect to see them perform this version with you at one of your concerts sometime?

Any plans on your next trip to Memphis to record a duet with Natalie?

Wish to suggest recording Buddy Holly’s tune “Dearest.” That would be an old and new song to release on iTunes. I don’t know the music business, especilly the pitfalls of recording and releasing music. I know you’ll never escape Herman’s Hermits, which is more positive than negative. But you’re a singer, who still has a voice. You should try something new or different. Repeating your music and exploring it, is a great place to be. Few ever receive that gift. As a listener and fan, I would love to hear you explore something new, even if I don’t like it. Often songs age well over time with the right voice. What my ears don’t like today, a few years later, may sound wonderful. No idea why. You did “Nothing Left To Lose” on “One of the Glory Boys.” That song left Herman’s Hermits, Tremblers, and Peter Noone behind, moving to a unique musical place. No disrespect in my words. I sincerely feel you have a lot of great songs left to do. Slap the frog for being silly or delete this, if you wish. You’re a whole lot better than you give yourself credit for. It’s your musical road, not mine. Travel it as it pleases you to travel it. I can always look elsewhere for new music and do. Best of luck to you.

Wow! I remember going to several Restless Heart concerts as a teenager when they came to San Angelo, Texas. I remember being in the front row making eyes at Greg Jennings and he turns around and gives my friend who I was with a guitar pick. ha ha. Anyway, good memories.

Peter Noone/Restless Heart. Sounds good to me!

Call yourselves Nashville’s Elder Statesmen or The Young Seniors. Being hearing impaired I have a new version of Kind of A Hush for you to do. Goes like this: “There’s a kind of hush, I can’t hear tonight, I can’t hear tonight, cause I forgot, my hearing aids! So listen very carefully, closer now, I’m gonna scream, this isn’t a dream. The only sounds that you will hear is me as I scream in your ear, ‘WHAT’D YOU SAY!’ forever and ever!” I know. It needs a lot of work.

Obviously, you credit whoever performed on the record . . . and it doesn’t sound like your Hermits were there . . . . therefore, you should use your own name. I don’t think the “Herman’s Hermits” moniker will give the record that much of a bump, at this stage, over Peter Noone. Also, this was a Nashville recording . . . . and Herman’s Hermits connote British Invasion . . . . just a thought.

On the web site of Restless Heart they put this comment on:
Restless Heart members take a break to capture the moment with Peter Noone.
So I think that gives the answer. It’s Restless Heart and Peter Noone.

    Love it!

Thanks for sharing the picture! Can’t wait for the recording to come out – the phone version sounded really good even in that format. I can just imagine how wonderful the final version will be!

That’s a tough question – seems kind of long with HH in it, but that’s a very recognizable name, like Hershey’s… Hmmmmmmmm, you’ll make the best choice!

Well, what a fab looking group! So exciting that there will be a new version of “There’s A Kind Of Hush” (my fave HH song) soon on iTunes. As far as the name for your version, both have a nice ring to them – maybe Restless Heart w/HH starring PN just to get all of the lads in there :-)

Always so much fun to keep up on your daily adventures – thx Peter!
