Around The World Tour / Grantham, England
March 8, 2012

Grantham Lincolnshire
Finally got time to do a post.
I am in the pub (short for Public House) in the lovely town of Grantham.\
I had a Curry served to me by a lovely Chinese lady in the hometown of

I had an Apple Meltdown on the plane over to the old country, and after much ado about nothing I decided that it is not good to get any liquids in the track pad!
I just had to buy a new laptop and Damon (my younger brother) will be the next big Apple user, after a trip to the Apple store in Liverpool next Tuesday!!!!!

Just seen Peter at the Philharmonic in Liverpool. BRILL BRILL BRILL. Much too long between concerts. PLEASE PLEASE come back to us in the UK.
Hey Brenda…..there are still 47 more days on this tour! Try to get to another show, it’s well worth the travelling!
So sorry about your computer crash. Now you know that computers do not like to drink.
Love seeing the pictures and hearing about the concerts while I am stuck in USA. Wish I could be there. Planning on seeing you in May for my birthday.
Love reading your travel blogs!
I love to hear some of the names of the places in England. I think everywhere in Canada was named after one place or another. Have fun Herman.
Just watched you on PBS is gets more fun every time I watch.
Whoops! The pics I was referring to are of places in England – not concert photos, and are only on facebook. My bad?
I love Margaret Thatcher. And Curry. What a nice melding of cultures! A nice English lady, Indian Curry, and a lovely Chinese lady. (Of course, I’ve never seen a Chinese lady who WASN’T lovely!!) And I have really enjoyed seeing pics here and on facebook. :)
It is now officially apple cobbler.
Will you be doing any television or radio interviews while there? So glad to see the papers are catching up with you. Keep us posted!
Great! Hope you do come up with some fun pix/info! I know England is not very large . . . but since I notice your tour has started pretty much in the south and wends its way north . . . . with your final dates being played in Scotland . . . .are you hoping for warmer weather by the time you play there — is there that much of a climate difference from north to south of the country?
I am off to Barnstaple now. See what I can see in the way of pics there
Safe trip. Have fun on your UK tour. Always love seeing your current pictures, modern technology , isn’t it great.
Safe travels, Peter. Don’t forget which side of the street to drive on like I almost did when I was there.
Peter, You are so crazy…….
Looking forward to the pictures. Sorry to hear about the computer crash however, I hear fried apples are really good!
Hello again Peter,
A thought just came to me, that while you were at the Apple store in Liverpool…it would be only a hop, skip and a jump to Hanover Street??? (BBC Radio….) Just sayin’ but che sera, sera:)
Sorry to hear your computer fried….. apple puree?! Daily Mail article is great…. good to see the tour is getting some publicity!
Nice story in todays Daily Mail (friday) Hardly a Hermit. will see the show tonight at Swansea
Eileen – can you post a link or copy & paste it here? We’d all love to read it.

I got this article in my Google alerts very enjoyable:)
Cool story and lots of great photos!
Sorry about your ‘puter. Military personel whom I have talked to and had been stationed in England tell me what a ‘whole different country England is.” The language/customs, etc. Never really realized what they meant until I started hanging out with you online. Both speak “English” I took for granted.
You seem to be busy busy busy busy. Take care and safe travels.
A wee bit of turbulence in flight? Hope you had back up of your stuff! You’ve been missed here, but as the others have said, Pam, Judy & Gill have been keeping up with you & your shadow!

This article pops up when you google ” a curry”. Excellent news for some??? Wonderful reviews and some photos have allowed us to follow your busy tour schedule. The concert halls and venues look very British – what a loverly country!!! Thanks for taking time to post….
Glad to hear update on your travels….Gill has been good about sharing some of it with us. Sorry about your meltdown….but look forward to some more pictures…have fun…travel safely. Curry? hmm never had that before but do plan on trying it some day.
Oh, that this too, too solid flesh should melt.
Oops! That’s “would”
Fried apples, yum!
This should be fun, a tour of Olde England with a modern Bard! Two questions: by owning up to the knowledge that Grantham is Lady Thatcher’s hometown, are you admitting to being an old Thatcherite (or have you more recently watched “Iron Lady”)? Secondly, have you watched the British soap, “Downton Abbey”? I’m now curious as to why their main character is named the Earl of Grantham, with the seat of his estate located in Yorkshire (as they mention in the show) . . . . when the real location of Grantham is in Lincolnshire? Obviously, I don’t expect you to have an answer for this one; but . . . . . hmmm?!
Thanks for the update, Peter. I’ve seen some pictures of the UK tour so far and it looks like lots of FUN! Curry is my absolute favorite food and I envy the British being spoilt for choice in this culinary area. Enjoy your journey through Liverpool 1 next week to take care of your Apple requirements:) All the very best. x
Brilliant show at the Meres. Thank you Peter.
Sorry your Apple melted Peter; glad you’re back reporting on your concerts in the “old country”. Gill’s been keeping us up to date while you were melting!!!
Peter, try NOT to have too much f-u-n while you’re there!! That’s interesting about the Public House!
I’m liking keeping up with via everyone’s report/photos/vids!
I guess that just goes to show you that one should never eat when using their Apple. You probably had a little bit of a Meltdown when you realized it didn’t work anymore. I just bought a new Dell laptop. I wonder what kind of dessert goes good with it??
Yes please take some pictures!!!!
Thanks for the update Peter! Have a great tour!
Solid Silver 60s..starring Peter Noone..fueled by Cadbury and Curry.
I’m so enjoying all the pictures and reports along the way.
So nice to hear from you. I know you are very busy. I am sure you are enjoying yourself and the concert goers too. Would love to see some pics.
Thanks for defining pub for me, I never knew how it came to be called that.
By any chance, was the liquid you got on the trackpad Apple juice?
It’s about time Damon joined us Apple users!
Had a fantastic night in Buxton all the acts were brilliant but you were the star of the show without doubt. Thanks for taking the time to speaking after the show and lettting us have the pics taken, can’t wait for a repeat performance in Birmingham next Wednesday love Betty
