Yes, he sometimes can get carried away, but I think he still has one of the best shows on the channel. Actually I feel this way, I don’t like it when a DJ is told how to do his show. You can either listen to it, or turn on something else.

He DEFINITELY does. I really enjoy it…I grew up during that era, and I really enjoy the stories of his escapades with Mick Jagger, Gerry Marsden (Gerry and the Pacemakers) and Donovan, and others. Last week, I think he was saying that ‘The WHO’ was “Herman’s Hermits” favorite band. You wouldn’t figure that…because their music was so different, yet BOTH were so good. The stories he tells are simply smashing.

Excellent, simply captivating show on the Satellite Survey from the years of the British Invasion. I grew up during those years, and it was quite exciting hearing about your personal conversations with Mick Jagger and Colonel Parker, Gerry Marsden, Freddie and the Dreamers, and you just blew me away; I listened to the show TWICE it was so good. I watched you on Ed Sullivan and all the shows you appeared on in the early 60s. Good on you! Keep up the GREAT shows!

I listened on iPhone to Saturday’s show, and notice I now have a feature called “On Demand”, so I can listen to it again and again at any time! How cool is that!!!

That is very cool, unfortunately I don’t have an IPhone, but that sure will not stop me from listening to the show. Gotta get me one of those Sirius Satellite radios for my office too, as well as the car, because I can never guarantee I will be driving during the show to be able to listen. The first time I heard the show was over Christmas, driving down to FL from Chicago, and I listened to the ENTIRE show. What a GREAT show that was.

I was lucky enough to get to listen to the entire show today and also join Chat for a while – WOW, what fun! Great songs, Peter! Thanks for playing “Because” by DC5 which just happens to be my fave song of all time (along with all of your songs, of course ;-)) Thanks for stopping by Chat and giving us instructions on making requests! Looking forward to next week’s show!

We have a Christmas party to go to tonight so hopefully we will be able to listen to you some of the time. We only have sirius in Dennis car. So wherever we are riding in the car we will be listening. This may be a dumb question but when you are doing a concert how do you do two things at once. I imagine that you will be doing prerecordings.

Darn, my Sirius is stuck on Sports channels. Gotta get it fixed so I can tune in! I’m new to this but can I comment on the AETN program of Herman’s Hermits? I was surprised to hear a song I’d never heard before, “Sentimental Friend”. Very lovely!

Has Sirius given you an email address for fan mail and requests?

PS – loved some of the comments posted on the pingback – sounds like some of your VH1 fans have found you at XM.

    Peter , Peter :

Can you sing the good ‘ole songs like:

SLEEPY JOE and My Sentimental Friend ? I Love Sea Cruise and if I had to Die to SEE You , I would do it ALL OVER AGAIN.

Your Medical Trapper and Mad Scientist , Josephine A.M. Caiazzo

P.S. I hope they build the Steel Pier all over again in Atlantic City . I had so much FUN chasing you & the Hermits. I even got my flip flop broken and had to go to the hospital because of a foot splinter. BUT…. You & the Hermits were worth it ! Cheerio..

I love the Sirius 60′s channel. Dennis has it in his car. So it looks like we may be going for rides on Sat. nights through the parks like we did in the 60′s .

I think my first idea is that I should try to find my password to get on Sirius radio to listen to your fabness! Then I would suggest you host with the most, such as you did back in the days of VH1 when almost everyone was still alive, even tho many were unwell. Make em larf, make em remember, make em smile, make em sing along!

I am happily a Sirius subscriber and sooooooo excited! My suggestion is for you to play your favorites, Peter, and share your stories. If it’s live, we’d LOVE to call in and request, but if not, email requests ahead. Anything you decide is fine with me, just sooooo excited ( think I mentioned that) that you’ll be part of our Saturdays!!!!! :-)

For those without XM radio….. Sirius has internet subscriptions – you can listen thru your computer, smartphone, tablet, etc. Check out the options at http://siriusxm.com There is even a trial subscription – listen to the first program and decide if you wish to purchase a subscription if you love what you hear!

My first thought was Chat Par-Tay!! My second thought was, damn, I don’t get Sirius – yet anyway. So hopefully once the chat room is up and running, we can gather together and listen to your weekly program.

Back in the day of the Yahoo group, we used to do a weekly poll of what HH song we wanted to hear, and the winning song would be played on the air at a certain time. Perhaps something like that could be organized again.

I, too, like the idea of the themes and an Ask Peter segment. Your stories are as timeless as the music.

    a) will your audience be able to call in or interact via twitter during the show? (presuming it is a live show)

I agree with the comments made previously about having a weekly theme or specific artists covered during the shows – perhaps one artist an hour. I’d love to hear some selected songs from your personal collection and maybe some stories about the artists like the ones you share about the Beatles.

Guess I can’t just be Lady K to post……………..gotta be Ms Cupcake too! Your new radio show sounds like my kind’a music……..even if I can’t tune in………….Happened to come across Clint Eastwood’s “Play Misty for Me”late last night…………had been decades…..so I watched it. Yikes! One bit of advice I have is don’t play “Misty” for anyone……even if they say they’re your mumsy!!!…….just kidding of course…………..you can play “Misty” anytime you wanna! ;) ( Probably a good thing you pre-record your show! ) But I did watch Pete Townsend being interviewed on the David Letterman show the other night……what a card……..said when they were just starting out, he saw Keith Richards doing the windmill thingy before going on stage with THe Stones. He asked Keith about it……and Keith said Huh?! (I think he was just warming up his shoulder for the half Windmill move he is famous for)…………..but Pete took it a step farther and did the WHOLE windmill thingy that HE is now famous for doing on stage with The Who (OUCH!) NOW………….I wonder if you will be interviewing some of YOUR favourite 60′s musician/singer/songwriter……..performers???! on your really big SHOE?!

First, I would like a reply box light enough I can see what I am typing, since this and the homepage are overly dark. Next, if this great new program ever gets syndicated to the over-the-air market, let me know. Can’t afford Sirius radio. Off my Soapbox now.

Consider doing features on Tommy Roe, Gary Lewis and The Playboys, Gerry and The Pacemakers, and The Kinks. I will skip a campaign speech, since I hope “why” is obvious for most of them.

Since you knew Mickie Most and those he Produced, what made him and why was he, a great Producer? Did he discuss his own background as a singer and star in South Africa, when it came to producing. Also flying to the USA, in search of material to record?

Great idea. Will you be playing some Herman’s Hermits songs? I have to figure out a way to listen, don’t have sirius radio. By the way I received my Christmas ornament and card today. Love both of them.

So, now I’m curious . . . . . will you be prerecording these shows in clumps (I guess they’re not done live anymore) cause I can’t think how you’d be consistent with your concert schedule . . . . Amazing how ancient I feel . . . . I remember when radio jocks were on the air live! So, anyway, I guess SIRIUS is getting serious about pulling out the ‘big guns’ to keep their numbers up! Satellite radio, phone apps . . . . I feel like Dorothy’s house landed on me — I have become a relic!

Peter, what date is the program scheduled to begin? Oh, and I am going to be real real selfish….I want to hear mostly HH songs…so I would suggest keeping the music style open to where we can request lots of your songs.

I agree with Shelley. The radio station I used to listen to in the 70′s did that and it was a lot of fun. They also had a segment called Beatlles and Friends, and that was fun too.
Radio station FM: 108. I miss those days… Don’t forget one shot wonders, girl groups, the Wall of Sound

The teacher in me is being selfish. How about organizing weeks by style? Folk Rock, Motown, British Invasion, Bubble-gum, Protest Songs, Love Songs, etc and then (maybe once a month or on a regular basis) a Potpourri spot of everything/anything 60′s
