A BLAST from my past

Oklahoma 1965. Wedgewood as seen by Cheryl Griggs
Do you have any splendid shots of me and me Hermits from way back in the daze???? Send them to me by choosing Texxx Support from the Pulldown.
We all want to see them soon!!! Here’s another shot!

Herman being taken to the dentist.

It is worth noting that Herman’s Hermits believed the best way to play our songs to lots of people was to make ticket prices low and allow anyone who wanted to see us an opportunity based on place not price. That’s why we are not billionaires now!!!!

i have some picture went you were 16 or 17 and that are great!!!!!
What a simply wonderful show tonite!! I’m so hooked . . . . . . on you and “Downton Abbey”
“Instant Karma’s going to get you……Going to knock you right on the head”……..
I love Plastic Ono Band and YES……….
“Owner of a Lonely Heart”
With Alan White, backstage where?? Are you taping something or is it a concert??? Nice picture, by the way.
Hi there, Peter,
I’ve never really been an active participant in your chat room on this site . . . . but, I just tried to log in to see whether anything interesting was going on and the chat room was empty (at 5:45 p.m. EDT) . . . . I had done this, also, a few days ago (granted it was around midnite on the East Coast) and there was, similarly, no one present in the chat room . . . . . what’s happened?? Is it just that my timing is off (as usual)? From what I understand, the room used to be so lively!!
There were a dozen of us last night (Monday) . You just have to time it right.
Thanks, Alice M! My timing has always been off!!
Another good time to come chat is during Peter’s radio show on Sat. I have a hard time making it in the evening, because evening for you guys on the East Coast is 5pm here in the West and I’m still working! But I’ll be there soone! It would be soooo fab if we could have a crowd!!!!!! :-)
Love your Peter Noone pop-tart pop up at the top of the page!
another great show tonight on 60′s on 6!!! It was nice to hear “when I’m 64″, brought back fond memories of the Macomb center in Michigan, celebrating YOUR 64th!!! will be going there in 4 wks for a concert, a very nice venue, hope you go back there!!
Just heard about ‘The Rolling Stones gather no Moss ” tour…….18 dates in North America. Just wondering Peter, if you and yer dadeo will be hooking up on any of these gigs?! I recently watched yer mum…….Elton John in
“Tantrums and Tiara’s” the director’s cut. I must say……I was pretty shocked by what I saw of his/her neurosis…….I mean….bringing yer entire wardrobe on tour with ya?!…..the whole shoe collection?! (hundreds and hundreds of them) so you don’t get homesick?! WOW! Holy foot fetish!
I am soooo glad you take after yer dad Mick…(I think?)
But then again……there’s no business like shoe business.
ps. Saw the British Beat (My Music) 2007 hosted by Petula Clarke again (fabulous woman……saw her live a few years ago….she kicks butt)
….but when you were singing “Listen People” it quite struck me as a prayer. Did you, Mick and Keith ever think your choir boy singing background would pan out like this???
Peace, love and Happy Trails from ………the Guess Who!!!
Hi there, Peter: I see you’re skilled with the camera and clever with a quip . . . . two things you’ve got going for you right there!
You may not be billionaires!
But you are definitely one in a million!
YEEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAW!
RIDE’M COWBOY!
(Where’s me horse?)
I agree; Peter is one in a million! Our special # ONE in a million!!!
Sooo, just read a little story about how you were quick to bound to the top of the seating arena, at the end of your 12th Busch Gardens show to make one little boy very happy and hand him a CD (great exercise and, you’re a nice man) . . . . guess that was the result of your 17-year-old stage show persona coursing through your veins . . . . so, how did your knees feel on the way down?? By the way, hope you’re having a well deserved rest this week!
Well, you’re not billiionaires now, but you did have a lot of happy fans who got the thrill of seeing Herman’s Hermits, and two shows at that!
So happy to see that this is fixed and we can reply again…..thx Texx!
There’s a website that talks about Oklahoma City and the Wedgewood amusement park back in the day. It says they had to move the Herman’s Hermits concert up to the roof to accommodate the screaming fans that came to the show on that fateful Tuesday April 27, 1965. What a great memory for all those lucky enough to be there. Will see you in southern Cal this weekend when you’re back on the road again! Our tickets do not include rides either. See you soonish!!
I love these two pictures; I hope you’ll get more! I notice from the concert schedule that you are in Edmonton this weekend. Will you be able to catch any of the hockey game tomorrow afternoone? We will play the Oilers here in Chicago on Monday. (Go Blackhawks!)
Another beautiful picture of Calif (sigh!) . . . . its currently raining buckets (Another Rainy Night In Georgia) here . . . .
Heard you on Penn Jillette’s Sunday School podcast. Pretty funny stuff I must say. Wow, you really got around in those early days. I was just a babe then. Hope at some point you’ll get to play in Denver, Colorado. Would like to take the wife to see you and the boys play!
I really thought more people would have more pics from back in the daze of early adazement. If anyone does, please post them even if we’ve seen them before. We would all love to see them. Thanks. :)
I agree, Roselyn – I would LOVE to see more pics from the 60′s if anyone has them to share – please, please!!!!!
I know someone that sent a picture in been waiting for it to be posted.
I sent a couple…
Hello Peter,
Don’t know that I’ve ever mentioned how much my parents enjoyed and appreciated your two songs: “Mrs. Brown You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter” and “I’m Henry The Eighth I Am” . . . . after several years of being forced to listen to songs like “The Bird’s The Word” and “Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow”, these songs provided welcome relief . . . . they were not so thrilled, however, by your song “Silhouettes”, as it put them in mind of stalkers . . . .
Another great show tonight, Peter on sirius!!! Enjoyed hearing my fave GC song, Galveston, feel so bad for him having Alzhiemers, what a horrible disease!! So….. Stevie Wonder blew you a kiss??!!! LOL!!! Love your stories, could listen to you for hours!!! lol.
I wish I could go back in time and see one of your earlier concerts and take some photos, but I was one of the unfortunate ones who didn’t get that opportunity. However, you were part of my past, and I was part of your past (LOL) as a huge unseen fan who bought records and teen magazines, saw your movies, and tried to find out when you were on TV. I also requested your songs on the radio. Those were good days filled with happy memories. :)
Hi Herman & Herman fans! See you March 22! Love, Janis
Palm trees aren’t indigenous to Santa B., now are they?!………I was more than a little shocked when I heard this years ago……there must’ve been a lot of very energetic tree transplanters at one time. Sure looks beautiful!!!
Nice pic of the Hermits carrying you off to the dentist…….I wonder if you are going to see my bro Dr. Pain (in the ass) HA!!! His claim to fame (Dr Zuk) is buying John Lennon’s molar for 30 K last year ………one of the best things he ever did with all that cash burning holes in his pockets!!! (and listen to his little sista!…..the 60s chick… ME!)
Happy V-day!!!
….after eating a whole ton of chocolate for Valentine’s Day! Happy VT Day, Peter, hope you’re “feeling the love” from all of us here <3
Love the “Dentist” photo!!! Handsome lads, indeed!! Happy Valentine’s Day, Peter!!
That does look like a beautiful SBA nite . . . . . oh, I’m so homesick!
They say reading poetry gets you high……..much like listening to music (whose lyrics are often poetic too!) So here goes:
Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind,
And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.
“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” 1.1 231-2
(Did it work?) HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAYS!!!
ps. Where are all those groovy 60s photos?……I do love
the one with you Peter and Mr.Young!
Looking forward to seeing more pics of the 5 teenaged Adonis’s from my Manchester.
Sorry, Peter, even if I could supply some early pics of you, don’t think you’d really be able to use them . . . . my camera skills being such that any subjects I shot were caught from the eyebrows up, with plenty of sky . . . .
I love blasts from your past! I was there(not at this show but ) but sadly I don’t have any pics to share. Look forward to seeing more
I have a picture of you and the banned from 1965 but I was very far away.
Loved the concert anyway.Jerry can’t believe my parents took my sister and I , not once but twice because it was rained out the first date. I told him maybe my mom liked you too. All I know is that they took us to see you!
I love to see pictures of you from now and then. I wish I had pictures of you but I was a late bloomer
