http://smilebox.com/playBlog/4d6a6b344e4441324d546b3d0d0a&blogview=true It was an awesome night at Merrillville and Connor Could not have said it any better. It started out with dinner at Maloney’s with the Noonatic’s Gloria, Terry S. Dennis and Myself. It was a fun time being together since we have not seen each other for a few months. It was then time to walk over to the Theatre which I though was going to start at 7 but did not start till 8. As you could see i was not to excited that i really did not look at the time. So we then got in and waited for the Concert to start. We sat next to Connar and his friend who were so nice to talk to. He had told us all about going back stage and speaking to Peter. Thank You Connor for sharing your backstage experience. First Line Up was the Grass Roots who were really awesome and then it was the Buckinghams who was excellent to. But what it made it so special was at the end Peter came out to play the trumpet with the Buckinghams which was awesome. I never knew he could play the trumpet but I should of figured that he could play any instrument. Then the time was coming near for the Herman’s Hermits Staring Peter Noone to come on. We had excellent seats that were free from winning the costume contest at Noonefest. You could just feel the excitement in the audience and when Peter came out on stage everyone was standing. Peter played his usual songs which was so awesome. He then told us how Vance fell off the stage and dedicated a Song to him No Milk Today if I am correct which was so special of Peter to do that. He is always thinking of his band members and fans. He also dedicated a song to Connor, Because ,which was awesome to. There were two small girls standing at the front of the stage the whole time which Peter loved and he gave them a CD and shirts. While singing Henry he had the girls spell Henry and the audience was really rocking and rolling by then. Then we knew it was coming to the end which is always sad for me but I know I will be seeing Peter and the band in two weeks with all the Noonatics at Busch which is going to be so awesome playing in the Busch with all the Noonatics. Again thank You Peter, the Band, Jana and Carol who always work so hard putting everything together at the table to sell things and everything you do for the Noonatics and Fans. It was an awesome time by all. I have some Video’s I will try and post but not sure how to do it. |

Terry, thanks for the review and the pictures. It was nice having dinner with you and Dennis. I always enjoy the Salute to the 60s show in Merrillville, and last night was no different. Unfortunately, from where I was sitting, I couldn’t see the Buckinghams’ horn section too well and didn’t notice that Peter had joined in. Peter, of course, put on a great show. It was strange not having Vance there with his high kicks. I hope he gets better soon and is able to rejoin the show. As usual, it ended much too soon, but it was a great evening.

I’m not sure why, maybe it is the 20 plus year history, but the Star Plaza seems to be “special” to both the bands and the fans. I’ve seen these groups at other venues. But other than the Star Plaza you never see them go on stage and play jokes on one another. |

Terry, your review sums up the awesome “Salute to the 60s” show in Merrillville! Your photos are so much fun to see, and Peter looks cool wearing your hat in the autograph line! It was great to see you, Dennis, and lots of other noonatics there. I enjoyed hearing Peter and the Hermits sing “Because” by the Dave Clark 5. We haven’t heard Peter sing this song for a long time. It was cool that Peter dedicated this tune to noonatic Conor, too! Peter brought many belly laughs to us while performing, and some of the people we talked to after the show were very impressed how funny & entertaining Peter is! They had no idea. One man asked my husband Terry, “Is that Peter’s real hair?” Terry told him “Yep!” And what a surprise to see Peter sneak on stage while the Buckinghams performed and play the trumpet! We sure missed seeing Vance, and hope he will heal quickly and be on stage soon. I’ll post some photos soon, too!

Great Susan. I can’t wait to see your pictures. Your pictures always turn out so nice. We were further back and still learning how to use the camera yet with lighting. It was a fun night thats for sure. |

Sounds like a good time. Great review and pictures. Merrillville always sounds like a lot of fun, but is always in the winter months so can never chance a drive across Dakota and Iowa as there will be bad weather somewhere. Great pictures of Peter and the trumpet. |

Sounds like you had a great time. Sometime I would like to go back to Merrillville. Hopefully they will move it to a warmer part of the year. |
