Growing up in Urmston

Growing up in Urmston most young boys had a dad who was in a band This is a picture of my dad (trombone) and his brother Lawrence (French horn).

We didn’t celebrate the 4th of July and to tell the truth it wasn’t never mentioned. Perhaps the line about the rockers red glare or worse the bombs bursting in air lines reminded us that another war had been lost by our forefathers, maybe five, and so we played glorious British songs, like Land of Hope and Glory!

We knew all about Guy Fawkes Day a celebration of my birthday every year and John Lennon amusingly sang Remember remember the 5th of November, gunpowder etc etc so you would not forget it. And a few miles across the sea, they were celebrating the 14th of July and singing “With his head tucked underneath his arm?” I moved to Santa Barbara as a part time resident on July 4th, 1985 (which is over 20 years ago).

I learned about Paul Revere and the Raiders from Micky Dolenz and Mark Lyndsay and Jon my CPA explained the tax system that America had revolted against and sent the British back home to regroup or recoup!

I told Micky and Mark stories about the French Revolution and the “sans culottes” and they did not believe that it meant “no panties” and is a sort of juxtaposition if you are a royal and your head is in a wicker basket but this did not stop the Monkees calling their movie HEAD!

When your amuse bouche is smiling at you from a basket!

So I celebrate July 4th with you!!! Independence! My lovely daughter is 100% American. None of the old half English Half French for her... Born in the USA - all American. I was born in Urmston Lancashire England and I am half Irish, half English half Welsh and half Scottish and if you need to know more go right now…. do not pass go... do not collect 200…

I’m so happy to share this with you that can read / see this now. When I started trading binary and forex a few months ago, I really didn’t have the necessary tools to trade and I lost a lot until I met Pablo Martinez who taught me all about market psychology as he managed my account for me. Today I am grateful to him for his great offer and help because it really changed my financial situation with an investment capital of $1500 and now I’m earning around $35,500 – $30,000 profits per week. Here is his WhatsApp no: +44 7520 636249 or his email address: pm7234029@gmail.com

Yes according to scientific principle of conservation of “e”s: Noonatics should drop the “e”, but this results in the Peter Noone Shop gaining an “e” (also a “p”) and therefore should become The Peter Noone “Shoppe”.
Thanks for your hilarious newsletters.

Peter, I was a math minor, and four halves is fine with me. The more, the better! As for the 4th of July, I wish we in the USA could have just stayed British forever!

Keep the Noonatic & anything else you desire. Personally I find the term qui clever. Anyone who find it offensive need to mellow out. Just keep doing what you’re doing Peter. You have the love & support of your Noonatics. I’m proud to be a Noonatic & I’m sure I’m not alone.

I’m so excited my broken Marriage has been restored. “We recently made up, even though it was difficult. It’s been more than a month now, and everything feels like it’s returned to normal. He has begun to treat me better, and it’s been a healing process for both of us. The nightmare that had lasted for almost 2 years before we broke up is finally over. It’s like we fell in love all over again! We’ve both put the past behind us, and are trying to move forward – and for the first time in a long time, the future looks a lot brighter. I can’t express in words how grateful I am Dr Jumba! It’s like we’ve finally rediscovered those things about each other that made us fall in love in the first place. All of the worrying and stress has simply vanished. Thank you Dr Jumba for saving my broken Marriage and brought my husband back to me!”. Me and my husband are living together happily again.. All thanks to Dr Jumba. If you have any problem contact Dr Jumba now and i guarantee you that he will help you contact him through : wiccalovespelltools@gmail.com or +19085174108

Hello Peter! I am sorry that this comment is so late. I am late with everything. My mother says I was late being born. (My birthday is on Monday, Aug. 30.) Things never change. Anyway, I enjoyed your story and am looking forward to your collection of stories. I will be on time reading them. I am Irish, English, and Scottish, with a little Dutch thrown in. My mom’s family was from County Galway. They came over during the potato famine. I was named after my maternal grandmother. Her name was Margaret Regina Murray and she married Claude Sullivan. My mom is 97 and lives with my husband and me. I have tickets to your 4:30 show at The Rams Head Theatre in Annapolis. My husband is coming with me. I haven’t been to a concert of yours for three years! I have missed you! I always remember your birthday and that it’s your anniversary as well. I remember crying when I learned. You were supposed to marry me! (I was only 14 at the time!) I saw the pictures of you and Mireille in 16 Magazine. I still have them. I hope you had a good 4th of July!

I always remember the 5th of November. Firstly when I was 13 and I discovered it was your birthday and secondly when I was lying in a delivery room at the local hospital screaming that my son had to be born after midnight so he could have your birthday. I’m not good with dates and it just made sense to try use dates I could remember whenever possible. I should have thought of that when I got married because to this day I know my anniversary is sometime in February but can’t remember the day. :)

My Dad used to sing “with his ‘ead’ tucked underneath his arm” and then I sang it to my kids. Another Urmston tradition carries on.

As far as the four halves go, I think Peter has a half, Herman has a half, Norman has a half, and Father Down has a half.

You know what they say… “don’t know much about history”. I say that, but my hubby knows a lot, since he majored in history. We met in history class, and the professor asked Gary to help me! lol I’ve learned a few things… like Guy Fawkes Day is on Nov. 5th. I actually learned that from you. Not sure who that guy is though. Independence Day… I know what that is. Sorry about your ancestor’s heads.

Hi Peter. Happy 4th of July. Hope you have a wonderful day. I enjoyed seeing the picture of your Dad and your Uncle. I have some old pictures of my Mom and her two brothers when they were children back in the 1920’s. Josie’s room looks like mine did when I was a teenager back in the 60’s. Although I did have some Beatles posters on the wall also. Great photo of you and the lady on stage. Looks like she is having the time of her life. I’m really excited to read the collection of stories about your life. Thanks for sharing with us. See you December 10th in Cincinnati. I was lucky and got 3rd row seats.

Thank you for putting the holiday into perspective for us. We get so caught up in the marketing gimmics of our holidays that we often forget the real purpose for the celebrations. I used to enjoy your history lessons in the old chat room. I used to admire your knowledge of American history (and that of the world too). PS. I was answering a trivia question in the latest issue of Rewind Magazine (it’s a nostalgia publication) and one of the questions was regarding the novel Atlas Shrugged. I knew the answer to that one thanks to you, too!
